FAQs

FAQs

  • A. This is the #1 question we get (so you’re not alone!). There is no need to be intimidated, our classes are meant for EVERYONE -beginner to advanced! You don’t need to be a trained dancer to attend Pulse, just a positive attitude and a willingness to try something new. As I like to say, “If you can clap to the beat, then you can do these classes!”.

  • A. Check out our EVENTS tab in the navigation bar to see what workshops we are offering each month! These will be available for sign up in addition to our regular classes on the schedule and typically delve deeper into our unique dance offerings.

  • A. While all our classes have dance roots, some are deeper than others. Some of our strength classes are “less dancey” if you will. It’s really more about moving to the beat in those classes, which if you’ve never experienced what that means, we think you’ll be hooked once you try it! It is not hard, it’s just more fun!

  • A. Exercise leggings with a sports bra and tank seem to be the perfect fit, but you should wear whatever you feel most comfortable in!

  • A. Depends on which class:

    • Pulse Dance - A pair of clean, indoor sneakers.

    • Pulse Barre - Your mat. Class is performed barefoot or barre socks are welcome.

    • Pulse Sculpt - Your mat and a pair of clean, indoor sneakers.

    • Pulse HIIT - Your mat and a pair of clean, indoor sneakers.

*We recommend you bring a water bottle, hair tie and sweat towel to all of our classes. If you forget something, no worries, we have items to rent or purchase in our lobby. All classes can always be performed barefoot should you forget your sneakers.

  • A. Short Answer, they vary.

Pulse Dance Fitness Studio’s Lobby doors open 20 minutes prior to class start and re-open for 20 minutes after class ends. Make sure to check the SCHEDULE. Please note that if no team member is present at the front desk while class is underway, the lobby doors will be locked for the duration of the class for security purposes.

We kindly ask that students wait to enter the individual studios until 10 minutes before the start of class. This is to allow time for the previous class to pack up, for our team to be able to clean the room and equipment, and for your instructor to get the music and space set up for your class.

  • A. Yes! Both our Women’s and Men’s locker rooms have restrooms, a changing area, lockers and cubbies, as well as a vanity countertop in the Women’s for freshening up after class. We ask that students please store all belongings (shoes, coats, even phones!) in the locker room to keep our lobby and studios tidy and free of distractions!

  • A. There are 3 Ways:

    1. The easiest is by downloading our free Pulse Dance Fitness Studio mobile app. Create or sign into your existing account. Book your class!

    2. The second is on our website. Hit the pink button at the top of the page that says ‘BOOK CLASSES’ or select the SCHEDULE tab in the navigation bar. Create or sign into your existing account. Book your class!

    3. Pop on into the studio during business hours and one of our available team members will be happy to help get you booked!

*If you do not already have an active package or membership with us, you will first be prompted to purchase one prior to booking.

  • A. Nope, but we highly recommend it! While walk-ins are typically welcome, we make no guarantees. Please make sure you check in at the front desk upon your arrival so the instructor can see if there is space for you in class and get you signed up.

  • A. Yes please. For two reasons:

    1. We want to get to know you and be able to put faces to names :)

    2. If we don’t know you are here, you will be marked as a ‘No-Show’ and charged our late/no-show cancellation fee.

Simply stop by the front desk when you arrive and give the instructor or team member at the desk your name. We love to say hello!

  • A. If a class you want to sign up for is full, we strongly suggest signing up for the waitlist. More often than not, a spot or two will open up and we are able to add students to the class.

If a spot does open on the waitlist, you will be automatically added to the class. If you are unable to attend the class, we kindly ask that you cancel yourself out of the class so that we may offer the spot to another student.

For Waitlist Students Only: If the cancellation occurs after our 2 hour cancellation window, please call the studio to cancel or email us at info@pulsedancefitnessstudio.com and let us know BEFORE the start of class so we can waive the cancellation fee. No call/No show before the start of class will be automatically charged the late cancellation fee.

  • A. Class bookings may be cancelled up to 2 hours prior to the class with no fee. Members will be charged a $10 fee for late cancellations occurring after the 2-hour early cancellation window and non-members will forfeit their class from either their class pack or drop in that was used to sign up.

If you know that you will not be able to make it to class, please cancel yourself through your mobile app or online account so that we may add the next person on the waiting list. You do not need to follow up with an email to the studio when you cancel or no-show; we understand that life happens. Exceptions will only be made in emergency situations. Please reach out to the studio in that case and we will be happy to accommodate you.

  • A. We are sorry to see you go! We require a 30-days written notice to cancel a monthly membership OR do you just need to take a break? To change your membership, email info@pulsedancefitnessstudio.com and a member of our team will be in touch.

  • A. It is our recommendation that students always seek their physician’s approval before participating in any exercise program. The experience of being pregnant is highly individual. Exercise during pregnancy can have many benefits if done correctly, so we emphasize that students should always listen to their bodies and stop immediately if something feels worrisome.

We encourage students to let us know that they are pregnant before class begins. Certain exercises should be approached with caution or avoided altogether.

  • A. Children are not to be left in the lobby unaccompanied or sit in the studios while their parent or guardian attends class. Thank you for respecting our policy.

Anyone under 18 years of age attending class must be accompanied to the studio by a parent or guardian on their first visit so that the parent can complete a liability waiver. Ages 14+ may then take class on their own. Children do require their own class packs or memberships separate from their parents.

*Please be aware that our classes are designed for adults. Music selection is at the discretion of the instructor and may not always be the ‘clean’ version.

  • A. We do want you to dance with your friends, but class packages and memberships are non-transferable.

  • A. We get this one a lot. The answer is a resounding YES, everyone is invited to participate in our classes! Dance is a universal language, plus a killer workout. As always, EVERYONE is welcome at Pulse.
