FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
New to Pulse Dance Fitness Studio? We’ve got answers. Whether you’re wondering what to wear, how to book a class, or what our cancellation policy is - you’ll find everything you need right here.
-
A. This is the #1 question we get — so you’re not alone! There is no need to be intimidated. Our classes are meant for EVERYONE — beginner to advanced. You don’t need to be a trained dancer to attend Pulse, just a positive attitude and a willingness to try something new. As we like to say, “If you can clap to the beat, you can do these classes!”
-
A. All of our classes are rooted in rhythm and movement, but not all of them feel like traditional dance. Some formats lean more into strength and conditioning and are intentionally less “dance-focused.” In those classes, it’s more about moving to the beat than memorizing choreography. No dance experience is required — our classes are designed to be accessible, empowering, and fun.
-
A: We get this one a lot. The answer is a resounding YES — everyone is invited to participate in our classes! Dance is a universal language and a killer workout. As always, EVERYONE is welcome at Pulse.
-
A. For the safety and experience of all clients, we have a firm minimum age requirement of 14 years old to participate in classes. Children are not permitted to be left unattended in the lobby or sit in the studio while a parent or guardian attends class. Clients under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a liability waiver in advance or upon arrival. Those ages 14+ may attend independently once a waiver is on file. All minors must have their own class packages or memberships. Our classes are designed for adults — music and content are selected at the instructor’s discretion.

A. We highly recommend it! While walk-ins are typically welcome, we can’t guarantee a spot. Make sure to check in at the front desk when you arrive so the instructor can confirm there’s space for you.
-
A. Yes please — for two reasons. First, we want to get to know you and put a face to your name! Second, if we don't know you're here, you'll be marked as a No-Show and charged our late/no-show cancellation fee. Simply stop by the front desk and give us your name. We love to say hello!
-
A: If a class is full, we strongly suggest joining the waitlist — more often than not a spot opens up. If a spot becomes available, you’ll be automatically added to the class. If you can no longer attend, please cancel yourself so we can offer the spot to someone else. For waitlist students: if the cancellation occurs after our 2-hour cancellation window, please call or email us before the start of class to waive the cancellation fee.
-
A. Our lobby doors open 15 minutes before class and re-open for 15 minutes after class ends. Hours vary by class schedule — check the Schedule page for current times. Please note that lobby doors will be locked during class for security purposes. We ask that students wait to enter the studio until 10 minutes before class to allow time for cleaning and setup.
Classes & What to Expect
-
A. Exercise pants with a sports bra and tank are the go-to, but wear whatever you feel most comfortable in! We require clean indoor sneakers. Your feet and our dance floor will thank you!
-
A. It depends on the class:
• Pulse Dance — Clean indoor sneakers
• Pulse Groove — Clean indoor sneakers
• Pulse Choreo — Clean indoor sneakers, socks, barefoot, or jazz shoes
• Pulse Barre — Your mat. Class is performed barefoot or with barre socks
• Pulse Sculpt — Your mat and clean indoor sneakers
• Pulse Circuit — Your mat and clean indoor sneakers
• Pulse Stretch — Your mat. Class is performed barefoot or in socks
We recommend bringing a water bottle, hair tie, and sweat towel to all classes. If you forget something, we have items available to rent or purchase in the lobby.
-
A: We do! Join our Insider mailing list and follow us on social media to see what workshops we’re offering each month. These are available for sign up in addition to our regular classes and typically delve deeper into our unique dance offerings.
-
A. We always recommend seeking your physician’s approval before participating in any exercise program. Exercise during pregnancy can have many benefits if done correctly — always listen to your body and stop immediately if something feels off. We highly recommend Pulse Barre and Pulse Groove for our pregnant students. Please let your instructor know before class begins as certain exercises should be approached with caution.

A. Yes! Both our Women’s and Men’s locker rooms have restrooms, a changing area, lockers and cubbies, and a vanity countertop in the Women’s room for freshening up after class. We ask that students store all belongings — shoes, coats, and phones — in the locker room to keep our lobby and studios tidy and distraction-free.
Reach out at info@pulsedancefitnessstudio.com and a member of our team will get back to you. Or better yet — come experience Pulse for yourself. New clients get 2 weeks of unlimited classes for just $39.
